BOO BAM BOO!! Nov 9. 2008

We are excited to report that Tony finished the planter off of the deck today and we were finally able to plant the rest of the bamboo..

we will be siding the planter with horizontal redwood ( to match the other planter and gates)

we planted 5 bamboo plants and hope that they will take off and GROW GROW GROW!
(They have been in their containers for over a year)

woo hoo BOo bam BOO!

. TONY AND I WENT TO WORK PUTTING TWO COATS OF LOVELY PENOFIN ON THE FRONT AND BACK DOORS. OHH LA LA .. LOOKING GOOD....

DASHER BARKS...

WE AWAKE TO A BAD ODOR AND POUNDING ON OUR NEWLY STAINED FRONT DOOR..
MEG OPENS DOOR TO NEIGHBOR ASKING IF OUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE...
meg does not want to know.. so she runs out of house in her pjs with both dogs

TONY PUTS ON BATHROBE RUNS TO PATIO.. sees smoking pile on patio..
GRABS HOSE..
AND ATTEMPTS TO PUT OUT OUR SMOKING DROP CLOTH FIRE..


(PENOFIN IS COMBUSTIBLE.. AND IT COMBUSTED) JUST A FEW RAGS IN A DROP CLOTH..



FIRE DEPT CAME FAST. THANKS TO NEIGHBOR CALLING 911...
TONY HAD IT HANDLED..HOSE IN ONE HAND.. HOLDING BATHROBE CLOSED WITH OTHER..
FIREMEN RUN THRU HOUSE.. THICK CLOUD OF CHEMICAL SMOKE
TONY AWAITS ON OTHER SIDE OF THIS SMOKE AND GREETS THEM AS THEY EMERGE FROM THE PENOFIN CLOUD.. COUGHING UP A LUNG..

--- SIDE NOTE.. ONE LOVELY FIREMEN MANAGED TO SAY," NICE BACKYARD" IN BETWEEN HIS COUGHS
GUY HAS GOOD TASTE.. - BIG UPS TO OUR PATIO IN PROGRESS.. WHUUUUUUUTTTT!

THANKFULLY.. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO HOUSE.. THANK GOODNESS...
JUST A BIT OF A SMOKY SMELLY HOUSE TO AIR OUT..
SO WE ALL SLEPT IN FRONT ROOM ON PULLOUT BED..


THE HOUSE HAD FILLED UP WITH SMOKE THAT NIGHT....
MISS LAYLA FOUND "CLEANER AIR" IN A UNIQUE SPOT...








MAYBE WE WILL WAIT ON THAT THIRD COAT OF STAIN FOR A FEW DAYS..

* in all seriousness.. Penofin is no joke..

This stuff just decided to combust in the middle of the night.. because a few rags were together on a drop cloth..
it wasnt due to heat.. so please if anybody uses this stuff. Read the can.. pay attention to the labels and warnings...
( obviously we didn't take it seriously enough).. NEXT TIME WE WILL...

BACK DOORS AND KITCHEN.. UPDATE..

haha. well the doors on back of the house are up.. one is stained one is not..
but the dogs have a new doggy door and they are stoked for that>>>

hopefully it shall soon be a patio just completed..

So we know its been a while..

two reasons why there haven't been many posts:

1.not much has happened in house world!

2. we got married!



BUt now back to real life.. !
Our first house project as newlyweds..

And not much to report ....
here are some pics of the backyard patio ( still in progress)
but spruced up a bit for Tony's bday dinner..
only temporary but a little more fun than just plain stone..

some of the remaining fun activities include..
stones still have to be sealed
and the grass put in
all the bamboo planted ( about 25 plants)
and the pergola
and benches still need to be built...

Today's post features two hairy but handsome models..

We wanted to share with you the latest round of pics..
and the stacked stone to accent the second level ( which we are super psyched about)

The patio is finally almost done.. for real and we have had such a great experience working with our contractor,
Tony Bellia of All Valley Construction and his great team.. * Pedro and his son especially.

now they just have to grout it all out.
we are pretty stoked..
